With more than 100 years of golfing tradition, West Hill Golf Club’s 19 th hole can quench anybody’s thirst.
We would like to think that all our guests leave us with a warm feeling, generated as much by the welcome and service they have received as by the food and wine they have enjoyed; all of which go together to make them want to come back.
The bar team, headed by House Manager Ben and Deputy Craig will be there to greet you with a smile and that tantalising first drink as you leave the 18 th green. From the traditional ‘black and tan’ to the classic ‘gunner’; we can also offer a wide selection of excellent wines, beers and soft drinks. Mull over your game with your playing partners as you enjoy a beer in the Bedser Bar, named after our Past President Sir Alec Bedser C.B.E.; and maybe order a snack or a bar meal from our bar menu. There is always a great buzz in the Bedser Bar, especially after a weekend competition.
As our members, society golfers and ‘open’ competitors will tell you, there is a lot more to the catering at West Hill than the Bar Menu. Head Chef Brenden, Sous Chef Tracey and their team have built an excellent reputation for West Hill’s food. From the mouth-watering carvery selections to their fine dining menus, they continue to produce excellent fare which prompts so many letters of praise and congratulation.
West Hill’s Dining Hall is full of history and makes a great setting for a special private function; with the lights turned down low and the gold leaf on the honours board glistening in the candle light.
Choose the Lubbock Lounge , named after the Club’s founder, for the pre-lunch or dinner drinks, not forgetting the vital post-prandial Kummel!
