Dress Code

ON THE COURSE

Footwear
Proper golfing footwear must be worn with either spikes or soft spikes. Trainers are not permitted.

Shirts
Gentlemen’s shirts must have sleeves and a collar, polo or turtle neck. They must be tucked into the waistband of trousers. Tee-shirts, track suits, rugby/soccer shirts and denim shirts are not permitted.

Ladies’ shirts without sleeves must have collars.

Shorts and Trousers
Gentlemen may wear trousers or tailored shorts (preferably with a belt).

Ladies may wear tailored trousers, cut-offs or shorts/skirts of an appropriate length.

Denim jeans, cargo pants and trousers/shorts with patch pockets or drawstring waist or legs are not permitted.

Socks
For gentlemen: Short socks predominantly white over the ankle with a discrete logo allowed. Long socks can be of any one colour.

Ladies may wear predominantly white sports socks or sockettes.

Headwear
If caps or hats with peaks are worn, the peak must face forward.

IN AND AROUND THE CLUBHOUSE

Hats must not be worn in the Clubhouse. Neither trainers nor flipflops are allowed. Gentlemen are expected to wear socks at all times unless wearing deck shoes.

Bedser Bar (Spike Bar)
Golf clothing is permitted. Smart casual dress is acceptable at all times.

Lubbock Lounge (Lounge)
Smart casual dress is acceptable, although the Club’s preferred dress code is collared jacket, trousers and shirt with tie, or roll-neck sweater. Please note that shorts or golf shoes are not allowed.

Dining Room
Collared jacket with tie or roll-neck sweater. For those playing 36 holes clean, dry golf clothing may be worn at lunchtime. Any further relaxation of the jacket and tie rule is subject to the permission of the Secretary. Please note that shorts or golf shoes are not allowed in the dining room.

Mobile Phones
May only be used only in the car park area and must never be used for voice calls in the Clubhouse or on the course (except in an emergency). However mobile devices may be used for non- voice activity (diaries, golf related applications etc) providing nothing impinges on the enjoyment of other members and guests.

The above may be changed only on the authority of the Captain or the Secretary.

Course Status

West Hill: Course open. No buggies permitted including single seaters. Please carry if you can. Thank you.
